Yogesh is an accomplished Change leader with academic mind-set & entrepreneurial spirit. Over the last 14 years he has worked in Strategy, Operations and Commercial roles, implementing critical business and operational transformations. His primary focus in my engagement methods have always been: organisational capability, people and customers.
We spoke to Yogesh to learn more about his most recent project and why he enjoys working as a consultant.
Most recent project:
In my most recent engagement, I was retained by a PE owned market leader in providing climate solutions to develop and launch a new business opportunity in their global operations. Work involved (a) optioneering (including developing business case); (b) developing operational strategy and transition plan; and (c) implementing Change into their Global Operations.
Project demanded building company’s operational capability by setting up functional workstreams and get operationally ready for incorporating new target operating model into their ongoing business operating model – e.g. development of sales strategies, channel specific sales delivery plans, sales resourcing structures (organisation design), building fleet and asset management operational structures, managing development of new products supporting new line of business, branding, marketing, finance & accounting for new line of business.
I managed business go-live activities and successfully launched new line of business in Sweden, UK, Germany and France (pilot run) and created implementation roadmap for its global rollout. The new business offering saw significant success within first six months of its operation, and they are expected to deliver 2000% improved on revenue over the next five years.
What makes a project successful?
For a project to be successful you need to be commitment, persuasion and confident in the solution you are delivering. You also need to work closely with the organisation and respect contributions made by others.
Best bits of being a consultant?
The main reason I enjoy working as a consultant is the flexibility it gives me. I have a better work-life balance and I get to work on some extremely interesting projects.
Why work with an independent consultant?
The most important and obvious benefit for client is, having access to right pool of talent at a lowest enterprise risk.
