Why is Pride important?
Pride, at its core, is a celebration of the LBGTQ+ community. We celebrate Pride in June to honour the Stonewall protests of June 1963, a series of uprisings led by trans women of colour that paved the way for LBGTQ+ liberation, and the freedoms and changes we see today. There is work still to be done, but every development towards acceptance and education are important steps on a long journey.
My personal pride journey began in my late teens. Through exploration at university and education from the wider LGBTQ+ community, my relationship with my identity has grown clearer and more assured. This meant that going into my first corporate role, finding a company that promoted inclusion and equality, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, was of critical importance to my job search. Thankfully, I found that acceptance at Talmix.
Talmix Celebrates Pride
It’s been great to be involved in organizing Talmix’s Pride celebrations this month, and Talmix will be celebrating Pride in several ways!
First off, you may have noticed that we’ve changed our logo to incorporate the pride flag colours. At Talmix, we pride ourselves on our Bold and Bright personality, which we think goes hand in hand perfectly with the visual representation of the Pride movement.
Our main event will be a photo campaign, through which our global team will showcase what makes them proud to be part of the Talmix team. We’re proud of the people behind Talmix, and we want our team to feel the same pride working for a business that champions diversity and inclusion. Internally, we will be holding sessions on LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace, to continue our education and growth as a team.
At the heart of pride is people. At Talmix we want to celebrate not only the diversity and uniqueness of our colleagues but also our 60,000+ global talent network. We are proud that our talent and team members are able to find a safe and inclusive space as members of the Talmix community. We are Talmix and we are Proud.
